Why Isolation Sucks
|
This week's video is something that we've never done before.
Let me back up a minute.
There is a Voice inside of me that I've been getting to know over the past few years. It is clear and specific, and when it speaks, I stop what I am doing and I listen. And I obey.
(and when I don't obey, things get really messy for a while until, eventually, I obey!)
Yesterday, The Voice told me I must let the world peek in to what we are doing at The Expansion Project through sharing a montage of ideas from an exclusive event that we hold on a regular basis for members.
Now there is that part of me that really likes the idea of red-carpet treatment - that there are some people who get access to the "special things" and others who have to kind of wait around for a sneak peek.
But then there is The Voice.
And The Voice is telling me that The World needs to know what a small group of us behind closed doors is learning in a powerful way.
But I (in my limited, human form) don't have access to The World.
That human form of me only has access to the hundred or so people who read this newsletter and their own circles of influence.
And to be honest, Dear Reader, in this particular moment that human form of me only has access to you, through these words.
Each day for weeks, Monique, Texas, Faizan, and I have been hearing The Voice, talking to each other about what it is telling us, and taking big and small steps as asked. (In case you are new to this newsletter, Monique and Texas are my good friends and Faizan is my husband, and the four of us founded The Expansion Project together last summer.)
Those steps have led us to a place we've never been before, and the stretching of our collective comfort zone is palpable.
But instead of retreating to our corners when things get hard (like we normally would!) the four of us keep coming together, weaving our shared vision tighter around each other until we have started to speak with one voice and feel with one heart.
And we want this for you.
We want you to know what it's like to be connected to your own inner sweet spot, guided by The Voice, WHILE BEING HELD IN COMMUNITY.
But we are up against an obstacle: old neural pathways.
If you watch the video, you will see (with hand gestures and everything!) how neurons link up to create neural pathways in the brain. It is common knowledge that new experiences create new neural pathways, which is why it feels so different when you do something for the first time ever.
It's also why changing your perspective can feel hard at first, because creating and maintaining new pathways in the brain takes an enormous amount of cognitive energy up front.
What we also know is if we don't keep practicing the new way, that one- time-experience becomes a fond memory which we can never really figure out how to replicate.
There is this idea we recently stumbled upon that I really love: when you were born, you were given a human. For the early years of your life, someone else looked after that human, but now, that human is in your care.
So if we take this idea further, you can see how one of the elements of that human is a brain, and experiments in neuroscience have shown that brain is actually designed for incredible experiences of Unity Consciousness, Oneness, Timelessness, and Embodied Transcendence, some of which you have likely already experienced if you're reading this newsletter.
However, for most of your life until now, your brain has likely been set to Survival Mode.
When we place these ideas in the consciousness space, it all clicks in, like those final pieces in the puzzle of how we work.
For example:
- Have you attended a workshop or retreat or other live event and felt deeply connected to yourself and others but then lost that feeling once you came home?
- Have you ever sat with a teacher or mentor or healer or spiritual guide and felt like you understood how the Universe works but after leaving their presence things felt muddled up for you again?
- Have you ever had a spontaneous mystical or spiritual experience but can't figure out how to access that inner harmony and clarity again?
As the Founding Four, we have different spheres of knowledge and training. Monique sees the big picture and how all the moving parts come together while Faizan catches the details and is a master problem-solver. Texas lives, eats, and breathes energy work while I synthesize concepts and ideas based in transpersonal psychology.
We all bring such different things to the table and have been creating a consciousness feast together since we met two years ago - living what we teach on a daily, sometimes hourly basis.
But to be able to do any of this, we had to over-ride our old neural pathways.
And it required a sincere willingness for lasting change.
The four of us talk daily about the changes we are navigating as we bring this vision of The Expansion Project to life. We have had to let go of old beliefs and patterns and surrender old tendencies to want to be right or want to be in charge or want to people-please or want to withdraw.
What we have that many others don't is a tight-knit group of others who actually get us and support us in following our own calling.
What we want to do for you is open up the velvet rope and let you on to the red carpet with us.
We want to teach you how to come back to a place of connection and alignment to yourself without days or even hours of investment.
We want to show you that it's possible to truly be yourself, no apologies, and still see others through the eyes of compassion and care.
We want to support you to master your inner world and watch with awe-filled eyes as magic and miracles start showing up for you.
And we want to invite you to join our growing circle of others who get it.
Now perhaps you are reading this newsletter and are already a member of The Expansion Project community.
To you, I would say: "Why haven't you opened a door yet?"
There are thousands of souls who are suffering out there, and who are yearning for a seat in a circle such as ours.
What would it take for you to invite them to join us?
I didn't think this is where we would go for this newsletter, but as I think of this as my weekly love letter to you, today I have an invitation.
Take a moment, right now, and imagine me, shoulder-to-shoulder with Faizan and Texas and Monique, and picture the four of us with our arms wide open, waiting for you to step in to our circle.
Are you in? And once you are, who else are you bringing?
The only one who can choose to change your life is you, and the first step is to get out of your comfort zone. If you are ready for the life you have been longing for and also willing to do what it takes to get there, step in and join the feast.
After all, what have you go to lose besides old neural pathways?

Dr. Saira
