Making Decisions from the Heart
|
What does it mean to make a choice?
Yesterday morning, I got a text from a friend. He needed a listening ear, so I called him and we chatted quietly as he hid in an empty office at work. He is facing a conundrum and has to make a decision where either outcome will have real and lasting consequences for people he cares about.
There is no clear path, and no decision-tree or pros and cons list is going to feel satisfying, because there's a feeling of "lose" in both pathways.
Now, I am someone who deeply believes that people already have their answers and my job, whether as a friend, counsellor, advocate, sister, spouse, or confidante is simply to help folks find their path back to their own intuitive knowing.
So I heard him out, and then reminded him that he probably already knows the answer.
I watched through the FaceTime fuzz as he closed his eyes, put a hand on his heart, took deep breath, and prepared to actually listen to what he already knew was there. The answer was still not clear, and so I suggested he try again later in the day when we can be outside by a tree or the river and not have all the distractions of his work demands and duties.
What I really wanted to do was take him through The Presence Protocol, but I didn't have the time and he didn't have the space to frame it properly so that he could really get the maximum benefit.
I tell you this story today as a reminder that you and I are making decisions ALL THE TIME. Whether we stop to to think about them or not, we are making thousands of decisions every single day that reinforce our past or shape our future. What is really exciting to share with you is that The Presence Protocol is a simple, repeatable, accessible tool that anyone can use to help keep decision-making heart-led.
And the best part is, we have a BOOK that explains it that is coming out in less than 10 days.
Remember to set a reminder for Saturday June 28 and order "The How" by Monique Peck on Amazon. We wanted this book to be an interesting, relatable, easy-to-access resource for you to work through at your own pace as you explore your inner landscape and master The Presence Protocol.
There is simply so much to be grateful for right now, starting with the incredible team at The Expansion Project. As promised, we will continue to introduce them to you in the weeks and months to come. If you are struggling to come to a decision in some area of your life and looking for some 1:1 support to help quiet the noise, you can always book in a free telephone consultation and we can match you up with someone who can walk alongside of you at this juncture in your journey back to the who you really are (and have always been!).
Yours in Decisions from the Heart,

Q: Tell us about yourself as a person and as a healing professional.
A: As a person, I am multi-faceted. Integrity and being kind and loving are values that were instilled in me over the years and by my role-models. My spiritual connection has always been strong, ever since I was small. I remember the Bible stories I grew up with, and as I got older, I was able to make a real connection to spirit, a concept that continues to evolve as I got older and learned more about different traditions. I have blossomed in my beliefs, and consider myself a spiritual person who is very connected with earth-based teachings. The word alchemy is really important to me – being able to morph through the elements creates a rich inner experience. I am also interested in the universal possibilities beyond this earthly existence, and curious about metaphysical ideas beyond the understanding of human mind.
I believe we are not greater or lesser than anyone or anything else, we are all finding our own valuable piece of how we fit into the tapestry on the planet. I have had a range of struggles and accomplishments in my life, and have been on a journey through marriage, family, career, and children. As my children and I evolve in our relationships, I am finding new ways to relate to them. As far as seeking help myself, I have been to a lot of different experts and professional supports, but I see how easy it is to hang on to our victim story. What I really appreciate about this way is it’s allowing me to let go of the past, and feels more in line with what I deep down have believed all my life.
Q: Tell us about your Service Signature.
A: I have always felt a responsibility to help out anyone who is struggling or asking for help, to bring some type of relief from what they might be experiencing. I am extremely intuitive, which helps connect me to how people are feeling. I can use this knowing to help people begin to understand their own access to their intuition. I can often sense the spiritual health of the person and the unspoken wounds. I see the whole person, and how each part of them interacts with the other.
Q: What are some of the topics that people would come to you about?
A: Grief and loss, palliative care, end of life issues, sexual trauma, post-partum depression
Q: What drew you to this work?
A: I have this inner calling, and moving to Salmon Arm I knew there would be a role for me that would embrace both my practitioner side and my spiritual side. This modality allows me to be guided by experts who have the clinical background but are also interested in other modalities of healing.
Q: What is the hardest thing about specializing in Advanced Consciousness Therapy?
A: I don’t really see a hard side. I have been through the trenches in dealing with trauma with patients as a Nurse, and I feel like my support here is at a different level. Once the client is gone, I have to be okay with not knowing how they are and trusting in their Sovereign Agency.
Q: What do you love most about your work?
A: Love. Everything is made of love and we are giving this explosion of love to each client to let it burst forward in their own life. The feeling of walking my own path that I have been clearly guided to and letting the love through me brings me so much happiness – it’s like feeding your plants and watching them grow. You’re not the food, but you’re a vessel for it.
Q: What is the one thing about this approach that most people don’t know?
A: That it’s so simple. It’s been right here all along, and we’ve all made it so complicated. Our power has been taken away, but we can have it back in an instant.
Q: What would you say to someone who is unsure about trying Advanced Consciousnesses Therapy?
A: Given the way we have been molded from a fear-based lens, it’s quite a normal reaction to feel this way. I think it’s important to question things you are not sure about, but if you give it a try, you will see that there is something here for you. Proof is in the pudding – are you brave enough to try it?
