Carried By The River
|
Dear Expansion Community,
It’s Dr. Saira here.
(NOTE: In case you are new to the community, here's the back-story: Monique and Texas Peck (who are married), my husband Faizan Sabzaali, and I are the Founding Four at The Expansion Project.)
Last week, Monique and I ended up in Calgary somewhere between a hotel ballroom and the Unified Field. Yup—a psychotherapist conference.
Now, I know that doesn’t sound like the juiciest location for flow, alignment, or magical moments of synchronicity.
But it turns out, it was exactly that.
Here’s what happened: we set out on a much-anticipated girls-trip....we arrived with a plan, some stellar outfits, a weighted blanket and oversized suitcase, and let’s be honest, a little skepticism about whether there would be time to fit in all the things and not be in that rush-y, performative energy that these conferences often evoke in me.
What we didn't expect but really enjoyed was how easy it was when we surrendered any personal agendas and stepped into the flow of the River of Life, simply letting it carry us.
Let me digress for a moment here.
I grew up in Calgary.
Many years ago as a teenager, I was invited by a friend to The Great River Raft, a Sunday afternoon city-wide event that started in downtown Calgary at Prince's Island Park, if memory serves me. The event was so un-Calgarian in some ways, because it was all about spending the day simply floating down the Bow River and not achieving a damn thing.
At the time, I associated Calgary with hustle and bustle, and this seemed like a very lake-life, small town thing to get caught up in. My immigrant parents definately believed it was a colossal waste of a perfectly good Sunday where house chores could get done and extended family could be visited, so they didn't come, but grudgingly agreed that I could me go.
It was not a competition, and though people fancied up their rafts, the objective was to simply be lazy on your raft for the whole afternoon and interact in a friendly and funny manner with others on their rafts. What I loved about this event is there was no pushing, no striving, and no motors on the water.
It was about laughter and ease, and not taking ourselves so seriously.
And we just let the river carry us.
And that's what this conference weekend was like.
So, back to our conference story.
Our commitment to ourselves and each other in our bond of The Founding Four is to simply listen inward, be there for each other when we hit growth bumps, and lovingly challenge each other when we are sinking back into old patterns.
Monique and Texas have been practicing the interenal listening part for years, and while I have had experiences of following my leading in curated spaces like personal growth workshops, it has been a learning curve for me to remain in flow in my day-to-day encounters. I was not sure how I would fare in this high-stress, high expectations, be-at-your-best environment that I have always navigated with a carefully manicured mask and a list of innner rules.
But I was willing to do it differently this time.
I let the River carry me, and trusted the unfolding timeline.
And miracles started happening for Monique and I.
Talks were moved and other speakers cancelled, and we ended up getting twice the stage time we were expecting! Imagine 64 therapists crammed in to a 30-person room, and we simply brought in dozens of extra chairs and folks even camped out on the ground as we launched Advanced Consciousness Therapy to a captive audience that hung on to EVERY SINGLE WORD.
Opportunities popped up out of nowhere as secret agents of the universe in unassuming human suits ferried us from one incredible conversation to another. We started saying “yes” and showing up to things or skipping out of things not because we should, but because we felt the energy nudge us.
Because we listened internally and trusted the River.
And that’s the thing about living in flow—you stop steering with your ego andf your old, familiar patterns, and start listening to something much quieter (but WAY smarter). Something that speaks through your body, your breath, and those gut punches and goosebumps of knowing.
We talk all about it in this week’s video, part of our weekly YouTube series.
If you’ve ever wondered what it looks like to walk through the world from a place of expanded consciousness—not aiming for perfection, but a willingness to practice—this one’s for you.
(Spoiler Alert: there’s a moment where Texas asks a "pointed question" you won’t want to miss.)
And speaking of flow...
This is your last chance to buy your ticket.
We’re gathering in-person this Saturday, June 7, for a half-day workshop on alignment and flow at The Expansion Project.
This isn’t your typical sit-in-a-chair-and-nod event.
This event is for you if:
-
You’re ready to stop forcing your way through life (and work... and healing)
-
You want to learn how to actually follow your body’s cues and not doubt your inner responses
-
You’re curious about how Advanced Consciousness Therapy translates into real-time transformation
- You want to get a sneak peek into The Presence Protocol so the HOW of getting back into alignment is no longer a mystery for you
Or, you just want to spend a day with really aligned, heart-forward people and reset your nervous system.
✨ Come for the teachings. Stay for the energy. Leave a little more you.
We can’t wait to see you—in person, in presence, and in flow.
Yours in On-Going Alignment and Inner Re-Calibration,
Dr. Saira (and Texas, making people cry with gratitude somewhere nearby)
P.S. Spots are filling daily. And we're not sure if/when we'll be offering THIS workshop in this way again. If you're getting the nudge, trust it—your future self will thank you.
