Flowing Through The Flu
|
Dear Expansion Family,
My dear friend Texas is struggling through an illness. The kind where you're out on your back, lying in bed for days, waiting for the bug to take its toll and your system to re-set. He’s obediently following all the home remedies, drinking the soups, resting the body, and doing his best to not let the flu take over his mood.
We’ve all been there, haven’t we? Some unexpected body curveball—a cold, a flare-up, a headache that won’t quit. Something that reminds us, oh right, I live in a body. And no, I’m not in control of everything.
In a world that constantly whispers (or yells), “Do more, be more, hustle harder,” being forced to rest can feel like failure. Especially for those of us who are trying to walk a conscious path. The temptation is to believe that if we were really “in flow,” nothing would ever go sideways. The kids would behave, the launch would go perfectly, and our immune systems would be iron-clad.
But that’s not how alignment actually works.
Alignment doesn’t mean immunity from discomfort. It means you’re in integrity with yourself—even when discomfort knocks on your door.
This week, Texas didn’t feel great. But he still felt guided to show up and record our weekly video. So, wrapped in metaphorical blankets and fuelled by lemon water, he pressed record. Not because we’re into forcing through or pushing on but because something deeper softly nudged him forward.
He took a moment to ask the question, and then listened, even though acting on the answer took courage and resilience.
In this week's video, we talk about the myth that “everything goes perfectly when you're in alignment.” And we lovingly bust that bubble.
Because here’s the truth:
✨ Alignment doesn’t always look graceful. Sometimes it looks like saying yes to things you used to say no to.
✨ Sometimes it looks like resting—really resting—and not letting guilt narrate your nap.
✨ Sometimes it's just refusing to abandon yourself when the world feels loud, messy, and upside-down.
We talk about how life hands us moments of pause—body breakdowns, emotional fatigue, and spiritual confusion—not as punishment, but as invitations.
To return.
To slow down.
To realign.
And if any of this resonates, I want to personally invite you to join us on June 7th for our Live Event in Salmon Arm.
This day is not just a workshop. It’s a recalibration.
It’s for people who have already done some of the inner work, but are starting to sense they’ve hit a wall. That maybe the self-care and productivity hacks aren’t enough anymore. That what they’re truly longing for is real connection. Spaciousness. Grounded support for a deeper shift.
Throughout the day, you’ll experience:
-
Live teachings from Texas and I
-
Tools for spotting misalignment before burnout hits
-
Simple but powerful practices for reconnecting with your body and intuition
-
Honest conversations with other people who are also tired of spiritual perfectionism and spiritual bypass
-
And the power of being in a room full of humans who are doing the work—with heart, humour, and truth
I believe with my whole being that you’ll walk out of that room lighter, clearer, and reconnected—not just to the work you’re here to do, but to the you who’s meant to do it.
If your soul is stirring and your calendar’s got a little room, come join us. The people who are meant to be in that room already feel it. If you’re one of them, we can’t wait to welcome you.
With love (and extra soup for the ones who need it),
Dr. Saira
P.S. You don’t have to be “all better” to start. You just have to be honest with yourself. Let’s walk this path together—mind, body, heart, spirit, colds & flus, and all.
