A Bigger Kind of Love
|
Today is Valentine's Day, and I'm in the mood to talk about love.
If you watch this week's video, you'll hear about the Valentine's Day that set the bar for me: a girls-only affair where I got to just be myself with no expectations and devoid of all the drama I had experienced through my years of romantic love.
I have seen over the past couple of decades that there are so many flavours of love, from love shared between soul-bonded friends, the love between a dog and her human family, and new-aunty-love as my sister brought triplets into the world.
There is complexity and nuance in these different relationships, and yet there is a common thread that runs through them all which can seem hard to articulate.
And if we take away the concept of a giver and receiver when we talk about love, the story starts to shift.
What if Love is simply an energy that does not come from us, but rather comes through us?
What if that energy of Love is always available, whether we have "earned" it or not, whether we deserve it or not, whether we acknowledge it or not?
What if Love is not something we have to muster from within, but rather something that we receive and transmit - something we allow to flow through us into the world?
For many of us, conversations about Love bring up stuff from the past.
Whether it's memories of your first love, love unrequited, or a recent loss of a loved one, we humans tend to have a lot of stories around what it means to love and what it means to be loving.
And some of our earliest narratives about what Love looks like were peppered with expectations, demands, and stress.
What if I were to tell you that the Love I am talking about is available to you right now, no matter what you have done or not done, what you believe or don't believe, and regardless or anything in your past or personality that might make you feel unlovable?
What would it take for you to believe me?
Every Wednesday evening at 6-7 pm Pacific, we invite people to join us for our Meditation for Inner Expansion where we access that place in us that knows how to open to this different kind of Love.
Today, I invite you to register for your free link and mark your calendar so you can join us in this circle of seekers who are ready for this new kind of Love that has no barriers and knows no bounds.
Let's bring more Love into this world, starting today, and starting with us.
Yours in the Let-The-Love-In Club,
Dr. Saira
